Busy weekend!

Saturday I spent the afternoon with a wonderful family for their beautiful baby boy Neil's first birthday!  It was a nautical theme and it was amazing, down to every last detail!  Here is one of the birthday boy enjoying his cake!  How could you not love this kid?

Today I spent the morning at the beach with a beautiful young Marine Corps couple who are expecting their second child!

Good things, goooood things!

Brag Books (to use as samples) are on order and we cannot wait to get them!  These beautiful little books travel well, they can be carried in your purse or briefcase making it extremely easy to "Brag".  They are 6x4 horizontal (although you can get them in vertical as well) leather bound books.  We will give you all the details once they get here.  For now, just know these will be awesome gifts for Grandparents on Mother's Day, Birthdays, Christmas (next year) or as a Just Because!  While we cannot wait to see them, we also cannot wait to share them with you!

I have become addicted to...

CUPCAKES!  Seriously!  I cannot pass by a cupcake shop without getting at least one.  If there are peanut butter ones available; three!  Today, I happened by a cupcake shop (which means I drove into the shopping center specifically to buy some cupcakes) and came out with a chocolate chip cookie cupcake, carrot cupcake, pumpkin cupcake and a lemon cupcake.  All of them were delicious!  Below are the photos taken with:  Macro Lens, f/2.8, 1/250, ISO-3200, 60mm, P, no flash, shutter priority.

The things that go on while my daughter sleeps

Whether it is taking a walk in the park or hanging out in the house on a rainy day.  If Madyson is napping, I am usually snapping!  :)

The beach in September...

On a late afternoon in September, Stephanie took some beautiful photos of a beautiful family.  Here are just a few from that afternoon.

Photo shoot with my daughter...

I fell in love with my daughter even before she was born.  I love her more than I could have ever imagined.  My mother says she is my new toy, but I feel she is a better version of me and I cannot wait to watch and help her grow.  I love playing, singing, dancing and reading to her (just to name a few).  Also, I really love taking pictures of her!  To capture her cute little expressions and in the most recent one, the way she interacts with our dog, Shaye.  Everyday she amazes me in some new way.

Not afraid of feedback...

With this blog, not only will we use it as a way to share our journey and give clients a little sneak peek of their photos, we would also like to use this as a tool to learn and grow as photographers.  We will posts photos that we take with the camera settings we use for those photos in hopes to get feedback from, not only family and friends, but other photographers.

For instance, the photo below was taken with a Canon T1i, AP, f/2.8, exposure 1/80, 400 ISO, 60mm and no flash.  I love this photo!  If there is a way I could have made it better and you know how I could have, I would love to hear from you!  Not just this one in particular, but others as well.  Stephanie and I are always looking for ways to improve.

Where we were and are...

For the most part Stephanie and I, while serving in the military, were apart.  I am now in the Reserves and she is back from deployment.  We are still apart physically, but have become much closer sisters and friends.  Stephanie is currently in North Carolina and I am in southern California.  Hopefully, the geographical gap will close soon.  Until then, we have joined together in something we have been daydreaming about for awhile; working together in some creative way that will only bring us closer and allow us a creative outlet that we have been yearning for some time now.  We both have a love of photography and while it has been a long road and the huge steps we have taken in these past months are about to come to fruition, we cannot wait to share our adventures with you!  We are sure our photos will become your families treasured keepsakes that will be passed on through many generations.
